Coffee was the ONLY thing that got me through college. Well, to be fair, I should say coffee and prayer! I remember waking up at 5am to cram for my 9am test. And of course those early morning cram sessions took place at the nearest Starbucks or Caribou Coffee. I was your typical procrastinator. I would put ANYTHING above my studies. Friends, bible study, movies, staring out the window... it was all more important to me that my school work. Don't get me wrong, I did pretty well in school. I think it came too easy for me. I knew what I needed to get a good grade, and that's what I did. I'm not recommending this to anyone still in college. I'm saying that you should have HEALTHY priorities. I had friends who would freak out about their studies and started planing what post-graduate programs to apply to during their sophomore year! I'm also not recommending this. Somewhere in between maybe? My sister Stacey does pretty well at this. She has a wonderful group of friends that she loves dearly, she's involved in bible study/accountability groups, she is a youth group leader, she works at a café, AND she does her school work well! I had proof of this yesterday. She texted me during her two hour break between classes and asked if I would meet her at Starbucks. Of course I couldn't turn that down! She takes after me with her "must have coffee in order to study" habits! So we chatted a bit and got caught up on life since we last saw each other (ok ok... it's only been like 2 days since I last saw her, but we're best buds!). Then she pulled out her Botany text book and started reading. It was too cute. My instant reaction to cuteness is to pull out my camera. It's like a knee-jerk reaction. I can't help it. It's so nice when you have a GORGEOUS sister who is always will to let me take photos of her. I love her to pieces and I'm so glad she obliged my trigger happy camera finger and my need to get someone in front of my glass!
I HEART YOU STACEY! Here are some photos from our little Starbucks study/coffee break:
