Bri and Devin

      Bri and I went to Capernwray Bible School in Spain and England in 2004. We were fast friends. We traveled to Barcelona together for the weekend and formed the memories and inside jokes that can only come from traveling. Upon returning to the States, Bri went to Colorado and me to Minnesota. Facebook kept us in touch (by stalking) every now and then, but the years went by and we talked less and less. She was hard to keep track of as she was moving all around the world telling people about Jesus. I looked through her Facebook photos (as any good stalker would haha) and I saw albums from Morocco, the Sahara, and Thailand. Upon closer inspection to her Thailand album, I realized that she had fallen in love! Cue Devin.

       Upon arriving in Colorado, we learned the story of how they met and fell in love. Neither Bri nor Devin were looking to be "complicated" with a romance. They had met during a leadership training and hit it off great. It might have stayed a great friendship if those around them hadn't intervened and encouraged their love story. When they accompanied others leaders in Thailand for an international conference, there was no turning back. Their love was in full bloom. From shooting star gazing, to jungle zip lines, to late night conversations about their desires and passions, they were in it deep! Devin had captured Bri's heart with his fun-loving goofiness. Bri had Devin spinning with her sweet generosity. They both LOVE Jesus. They both LOVE people. They are now planning on moving to Marseilles, France for a year to learn French and then they will move on to Northern Africa to run a business with Kingdom purposes.

       Bri and Devin- your wedding was amazing! We had a blast! We will be praying for you as you begin your marriage and your next big move! You were both a joy to work with and we loved every minute of our time in Boulder! XOXOX!

I not only get the most BEAUTIFUL brides... but apparently also the most talented! After hearing some cheering coming from the bridal room before the ceremony, I went in and found the bridesmaids tossing grapes in the air for Bri to catch! I don't think she even missed one grape! Such talent!

The toasts were hilarious! Bluejay and I remarked after leaving the wedding about how much we wanted to hang out with Bri and Devin because they sounded like so much fun based on the toasts. Too bad they live in Colorado!

Boudoir

I recently was asked by a bride to do a boudoir session for her so that she could make an album of the sexy images for her soon to be husband. I'd never done a boudoir session before, but I can't turn down a chance to take photos! The session was even MORE fun than I anticipated! My bride had her two best friends over to "calm her nerves". One friends is a hair stylist who made my bride GORGEOUS! We had a glass of pink champagne and talked about boys and giggled like we were having a sleepover. Very girly... very fun! The reason I enjoyed the session so much is because there are so many women who don't like their bodies or wish they looked a certain way- less freckles, skinnier, blue eyes not brown, long hair not short, perfect straight teeth, longer legs, higher cheek bones... the list is endless! It takes confidence to book a boudoir session, but I loved the way that my bride gained more and more confidence as the session went on. She became comfortable in her own skin. I showed her a couple images I'd taken throughout the session and she was floored. She never knew she could look so good and so sexy! I loved that I was able to use my gift as a photographer to make her feel like the gorgeous woman she was created to be. She remarked at the end that she felt to beautiful and free!

Danielle & Johnny

Danielle and I have been corresponding the past couple months through email, but we'd never met until this morning! Danielle got my name from another one of my Brides (thanks Sarah!). They are actually bridesmaids in each other's weddings. Cute! While emailing back and forth this week, we were a little concerned about the weather. Praise the Lord that the rain held off until after the "Lovebirds" session. As soon as I met the couple, I knew we were going to have a fun time. They are both graduating in May and are getting hitched in August. They met through a ministry on their campus called Navigators. Both got involved their freshmen years and were instant friends. Sparks didn't start until spring of that year when they were on a spring break trip to Florida with Navigators. Maybe it was the sunshine or Danielle's adorable dimples or Johnny's baby blue eyes. Whatever it was, they were both smitten. Years went by, and their friendship grew and deepened. They became deeply attracted to each other for so many reasons. They shared a desire for missions and telling people about Jesus. They both love to run and play sports. They had a fun loving and silly friendship. Just before their senior year, Johnny realized he couldn't spend his life without Danielle. So at a park, he asked her to be his girlfriend. Danielle giddily accepted.

But this is just the beginning of their love story. Danielle knew that a proposal was in the works this past winter, she just didn't know when. The closer it got to Valentine's Day, the more she secretly examined Johnny every time she saw him for a hidden, bulky ring box. Days turned into weeks and she never spied that box! One day, when she and Johnny were out for a run to train for a half marathon, they stopped to stretch at the park that Johnny asked her to be his girlfriend. Before Danielle knew what was happening, Johnny reached into the hood of his sweatshirt and pulled out that cleverly hidden ring box and he proposed! I had to ask why he put it in his hood! I mean, I would be so scared it would fall out. He said that he practiced running with the ring in his hood and it seems to work fine! Can you imagine if it fell out?!?!

Danielle and Johnny, I am SO honored and excited to shoot your wedding this summer! You are such a fun couple and I pray blessings on these last few months of engagement!

These are both my fav! I couldn't decide which to include. Anyone who knows my Bluejay can obviously tell that I have a soft spot for dimples, but Danielle! you have such fierce eyes! Love them both! Gorgeous!
