Victoria & Isabella

Ever since meeting Bluejay, I have wanted boys. We even have their names picked out for someday. Cute little boys with dirty cheeks from playing in the mud. Little boys who will collect bugs and then accidentally leave the lid off so all the bugs escape in the house. Little boys who will need their mommy to kiss their owies when they play a little too rough. Basically, I keep picturing little Bluejays flying around. A bunch of them. A baseball teams worth of little Bluejays! But yesterday may have changed my mind. Yesterday, I met Victoria and Isabella and my heart melted. From the first moment I saw Victoria's blonde hair and blue eyes and Isabella's curls and long lashes, I knew we'd have to sneak an imaginary girl in with all those boys I picture in our future. We started off the photo session playing in the back yard. We threw rocks in the pond and giggled. Little girl giggles are so sweet! Then they changed into pretty dresses and grandmas hats and mommy's shoes and played dress up. Because there are SO many cute pictures of these sweeties, I have to make TWO blog posts. Today I will put up pictures of us playing in the backyard, and you will have to stay tuned for the dress up pictures!

Seriously, Isabella! How is it fair that you have eyes with lashes like that? Beautiful! Stay tuned for more pictures in the next few days.

Eliot & Olivier

I LOVE my niece and nephew. They are the cutest kiddos I have ever seen. Maybe I'm biased? I doubt it. They are part of the reason I got into photography. Besides the fact that I have ALWAYS loved taking photos, I took these photos of my niece, Eliot, last fall and I just knew this would become more than a hobby.

Told you my niece is adorable! Well, I went out this week to take some pictures of the kids and my brother Ryan and his wife Bethany. We had lots of fun, but being childless myself (so thankful...for now) I totally forget how fast kids are once they are mobil and how much they want to be on the ground running around! Well, Olivier is like that for sure. I'm lucky I got any pictures of that little monkey! These kids really are some of my favorite subjects. Although, they will probably think that their Auntie Mindy has a camera attached to her right eye at all times. *Note to self: take pictures at Thanksgiving (obviously), but remember to put the camera away and enjoy the day with family! Can't wait to eat smoked turkey and the other goodies on thanksgiving with this family! Did I mention that Ryan & Bethany are AMAZING cooks? Yep, my mouth is already watering as I think about the thanksgiving delicacies awaiting me! Less than a week...hooray! Love you guys!

(see... FAST runner haha)

Lacey

I first met Lacey a couple months ago at a steak dinner at Bluejay's work. Because I didn't know anyone, I sorta hung around my Bluejay and didn't talk to many people. If I'm honest, that and I was busy stuffing my face with juicy steak and beer, but I'll rather say that Bluejay was my security blanket of sorts. I'd rather be called a "Linus" than a glutton ha ha. Anyways, Lacey came and sat at the table. She was so cute and cheery. She wasted no time in telling me all the goofy things that Bluejay has done or said at work. None of which were a huge surprise. Lets just say that I knew what I was getting into when I married that fellow! It wasn't her adorably sweet personality that captured my attention- it was her GORGEOUS bluey/greeny/hazely eyes. Yes, those are real colors in my world. Like I was saying, her eyes were so spectacular that I momentarily forgot my steak and became obsessed with getting those eyes in front of my lens. This week, my dream came true! As it turns out, Lacey is an actress. After a couple weeks of Bluejay bragging about me (He's my biggest fan! Love you baby!) and Lacey doing a bit of blog stalking (which I am all in favor of), she decided she needed some head shots for her acting portfolio. When she showed up on Sunday, she made two really good choices- a teal sweatshirt that made her eyes POP and red cowboy boots. Who doesn't love red cowboy boots? I've been told by Bluejay that I'm not allowed to love them. Apparently I have too many boots already? I didn't know that was possible. Ever since I posted the sneak peek earlier this week, Lacey has been BEGGING for more. So here you go, Lace. Enjoy!
