Sarah has the most GORGEOUS natural red hair that I have ever seen! I am such a sucker for red hair. Beautiful! I'm always impressed when a couple with brave the cold and do their engagement session outdoors during a Mn winter. We luckily scheduled this shoot the day before the entire city shut down due to yet another 12"+ blizzard!
This was the first time I had met Sarah and Jake. We met at Aster Cafe and just chatted a bit before we started the session. Jake is super funny and I loved hearing his rendition of how they met and started dating. He was friends with her roommates and was often over at her place. They became friends and had planned a night for everyone to go out and grab dinner. Everyone else cancelled. Sarah and Jake ended up going together and Sarah laughed the entire time! As time passed, Jake knew he wanted Sarah as his wife. Like all men should, he went to ask for her parents permission. I believe the phrase he used was, "Well, you've been to this rodeo before," referring to the fact that they'd done this before when Sarah's older sisters were getting married. Haha! On a rainy day, Jake took Sarah to a cute lake near where they lived and popped the question. I'm looking forward to your wedding this summer in Red Wing at the St. James Hotel.

Outside a DIY dog washing store (?) there was this funny big green plasitc dog. Jake thought it would be funny to include him in photos. Who am I to refuse a clever groom-to-be?
