For months, Bluejay has declared his envy for everyone we know who has gone to the new Twins Stadium. Little did he know, but I had secretly purchased tickets to go to a game ON HIS BDAY! The day began in Cambridge when we went to breakfast with Bluejay's mom. I heart going out to breakfast. Breakfast foods are the best! But enough about me. When we got home, I told Bluejay to get ready for our surprise day. I took him to Lake Calhoun for Jamba Juice and Chipotle. Two faves! He even got a free burrito for being a birthday boy! Then we drove to a park and ride for the light rail train. At this point, Bluejay was getting a little irritable at all the twins fans (and Justin Bieber fans... there was a concert downtown that night too!) who were "hogging" the train! He was getting super cranky and kept asking if we REALLY had to go downtown.... maybe we should change plans, etc. Not wanting to ruin the surprise, I was like, "I had NO IDEA there was a concert and twins game tonight! Sorry this is so crazy, but we have to get downtown for the surprise!" Even when we got off at the Target Field Station, Bluejay still had no idea. I gave him a gift from my parents (a twins shirt) as we stood in front of the stadium. Then I was like, "Ok, lets go!" and I turned to walk away. Then I gave him a small package with the tickets inside! He was so excited! He said it made all the crankiness and his annoyance with Twins fans fade away instantly! I like surprises... and I got him good! The game was awesome! We won! The field is so fantastic! I hope that we can go to more games in the future. It was a blast! Happy birthday Bluejay!
