Danie & Reuben {lovebirds}

Tomorrow, one of my most very dear best friends is getting married! Danie and I met on a missions trip to Honduras back in college. At first, I thought she was too pretty to be nice, but as it turns out she is both GORGEOUS and SWEET! We spent the next couple years drinking lots of coffee, giggling while we chat, and sharing everything like our love for the TV show Arrested Development. Two years ago, Danie left for Honduras to teach english as a second language to High School students in Tegucigalpa. I missed her like crazy. Last fall she called to tell me that she had met a boy who had swept her off her feet. The way she talked about him, I knew I was soon to give up my sweet Danita to a man I had never met. All my hesitations were put to rest as soon as I met Reuben. I love the way Danie looks at him. I can see the love in her eyes. I love the way he makes her laugh with their countless inside jokes from their travels throughout Central America. I love how patient and loving he is with her. I am so excited to be pulling "double duty" tomorrow as both bridesmaid and photographer. This will be Bluejay's first solo wedding!  Danie and Reuben, I love you guys! Can't wait until you return from your honeymoon so we can do married double dates!

We thought we'd bring their world travels into the engagement session.

Given the fact that the temperature was in the TEENS and that both Danie and Reuben are teachers, we headed indoors to the library for some sexy teacher photos!




It's not easy to be romantic in a library with so many bookworms walking around.








This is a much more fun use for a library study room! 

Sarah & Torry {turtledoves}

Sarah and Torry had a beautiful November wedding. It was a frigid day, but we braved the weather and took most photos outside. It was so cold, in fact, that there was a blizzard the next day with almost a foot of snow! So they got married just in time. Congrats Sarah and Torry! I'm so glad I got to be apart of your day and I hope you are enjoying your thus far snow filled marriage. 

I love when couples choose to do a first look before the ceremony. It's so sweet and intimate and the emotions can be more genuine than when they walk down the aisle. Plus, this time of the year it's almost a necessity to do photos before the ceremony because it gets dark around 4:30!

We found a cute little cafe called Edelwiess Bakery where we got some cocoa to warm up while we waited for the bridal party to join us. The employees were so sweet and surprised to see a bride and groom in their bakery that they gave Sarah and Torry a free treat. The couple even gave me a bite so I can officially say the bakery makes great desserts.


I told Bluejay we should go back to that bakery on a date sometime!

This made me so nervous! I got a pit in my stomach thinking about an injured groom walking down the aisle, but the groomsmen insisted that they could handle Torry.

Spenser & Michelle {sparrows}

Spenser and Michelle are two of cutest people I know! I hate hearing story after story of couple not liking the photos from their wedding. It breaks my heart!  When Michelle contacted me and told me that she didn't love their wedding photos and always wanted a "re-do", I was excited. But I didn't know exactly how lucky I was. Not only did I walk away with fabulous photos, but some adorable new friends as well! I liked them from the moment that Michelle told me that their favorite date is a Redbox movie and Mickey D's ice cream. I liked them from the moment she told me about the time that Spenser surprised her with her favorite banana split from Dairy Queen that he mysteriously pulled from their freezer. I liked them from the moment Spenser joked about Michelle falling in love with him the day he threw snow in her face on the way to class in college. I just like them! Spenser and Michelle, congrats on getting married (even if it was over two years ago!) Thanks for being troupers in the FREEZING weather we had. Hope you enjoy these photos and they grace the walls of your apartment with pride!

Spenser and Michelle are both big baseball fans, so of course we had to take some shots with baseball gear.





We also took some photos in "regular" clothes and used a blanket to warm up.

Bluejay teased me because I said, "Pretend that your team just scored a home-run." I guess you just say got a home-run, or simply just scored. Guess I'm not a big sports fan haha.
