Sunday Afternoon

Bluejay and I had a lovely sunday afternoon. This morning, Bluejay spoke in the sunday school class for the College Students at our church. I was SO nervous for him! He wasn't at all. I think I was nervous enough for the both of us. We took a personality test this week that told me that I "feel" the emotions of those around me. I'm basically an emotional sponge. I soak up all the feelings and become so saturated that I feel them myself. Hence the nerves. This afternoon, I forced Bluejay in the backyard to commemorate his first "talk" in photos. I was so proud. I'll be an annoying mama someday. But at least I'll have a million photo memories! In order to "get back at me", Bluejay took photos of me too. Wanna see? Hope your sunday afternoon is going well. We're enjoying some Caribou Coffee by the fire and flirting and holding hands and making everyone around us nauseous. It's a perfect sunday afternoon!

Colorado Wedding

Here is a sneak peek from our first destination wedding... well, destination for me and Bluejay... COLORADO! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. I am definitely addicted to the mountains and have had to go through detox upon returning home to Mn. I find myself looking out every westerly facing window hoping to find the Rockies. Much to my disappointment, all I see are twiggy trees and brown grass. But I'm counting my blessings that there is no trace of snow or ice anywhere! I even got a twinge of sunburn as I wrote some thank you notes outside! Spring has sprung! Horray!

Bri and Devin are the most adorable couple! They were even gracious enough to allow Bluejay to get his feet wet with wedding photography as I have been training him in to assist me. All I had to do is explain shooting in manual settings and set him free. It was extra fun to share in the joy of the newlyweds as we looked back and were reminded of our own wedding day together. Quite romantic! Bluejay enjoyed it so much, that he has already started calling Hopefeathers photography a husband/wife photography team and wants to be apart of every wedding I'm booked for in 2010! Sounds like fun to me :) Here is a little sneak peek from Bri & Devin's special day. Bluejay took the first photo.

New Marketing

I spent this week designing a marketing packet for meeting with potential wedding clients. Bluejay just got a new macbook pro and we decided to get iWork as well. It has been so fun to play with Pages. I know how to use indesign and illustrator, but Pages is so user friendly that I created this marketing packet in just a couple days! It was really fun! It's still a work in progress and will be ever changing as my business evolves. What do you think?
