California Here I Come!

I'm leaving (on a jet plane... don't know when I'll be back again!) for over a week for Ca again! I'm excited for a much needed time of visiting family and equally as important, SUNSHINE and WARMTH!!! I'm putting snowy Mn behind me, and putting on my flip flops and sundresses. While Mn winters can look super lovely, the harsh reality is that they are frigid and last far too long. That being said, here are some fun photos I took during a recent snow storm while driving to a photo session location out in the "boonies".
Yes! Those are two little deer hiding in the thicket. Wow, typing "thicket" made me really think of Bambi. I kinda want to cry...

This is what I'm looking forward to: flip-flops, sitting outside at a cafe, sunglasses, outdoor markets, sundresses, lightly sunburned shoulders, dipping my feet in the pool, laughing with my mom and sister, and big hugs from my dad.
Unfortunately, Bluejay isn't coming with me. He'll be in Florida with the baseball team from the college we are ministering at. We'll be on opposite US coasts. Apart. For two weeks! *tear* He's my buddy and I'll miss him dearly. Love you, Bluejay!

Autumn in Minnesota

Minnesota in the Fall is so lovely. The trees are a flame with red and orange leaves, the air is cool and crisp, the sun is warm, the apples are ripe, and there are pumpkins a plenty! Bluejay and I have spent every evening this week snuggling under a blanket with a steaming mug of tea while either reading or watching a movie. We had a night away with our couple small group from church up at a cabin on a lake this week. It was beautiful! Plus there is nothing quite like snuggling with wood fire in the fireplace and chatting with close friends! It was also super fun because one of the couples brought their six month old daughter, Evelyn. Bluejay and I both LOVE babies, but it was too cute to watch him hold her. He was like the "baby whisperer" because he would cuddle her and rub her little back and she would stay completely still, as if she was afraid he would stop if she moved. It totally melted my heart. Our big "fight" now has consisted of me saying I want sons, and Bluejay wanting daughters. Cute! But honestly, I'd cherish whatever gender God gives us... down the road. Everything about these photos makes me want to have another visit to the apple orchard, to have a bonfire with friends and roast marshmallows, to walk hand in hand with my love, and to marvel in God's creation!

We went to a Route 66 Rendezvous in San Bernadino this past weekend. It was AMAZING! I haven't ever seen that many gorgeous classic cars in one place ever! I just love everything about classic cars. I love the history behind the cars. I love the shiny bright colors. I love the white wall tires. I love the sleek lines and curves of the car bodies. I really think that I was born in the wrong decade. If I could choose, I'd TOTALLY love to be alive in the 40's! Here are some photos of my favorite cars throughout the day.

This car may look familiar... it was an actual car that was used for stunts in the movie Transformers. His name is Bumblebee.

I love that the car on the left has eye lashes :)

We were recommended to visit this hotel by a man who is an expert of Route 66 that we met while walking around. He even assisted with the Pixar movie Cars and gave us a insiders gimpse into the upcoming Cars 2, coming out in 2012. We thought this hotel was funny because it reminded us of the cone hotel that Sally owns in the movie Cars. So fun!
